I've asked those questions too. Equipped for the Autism Journey was created to help parents feel less overwhelmed and more confident as they navigate their child's journey.

Autism does not look the same in every child, and no two families navigate the journey in exactly the same way. Equipped for the Autism Journey welcomes parents and caregivers from different backgrounds, cultures, family structures, and communities.
Your family’s story, values, communication style, and lived experience matter here. Support should meet you where you are — not ask you to fit one version of the journey.
My Story
I am a mother of a son with autism, and for the past 7 years, I have been advocating for him, working with therapists and providers, researching services, navigating systems, and learning what it takes to make sure he gets the support he needs.
I successfully navigated the Katie Beckett process for my son and had him approved the first time. That experience showed me how valuable it can be to have someone help a parent understand the process and prepare for what is ahead.
I'm also currently completing my graduate doctoral certification in Autism Education so I can continue building my knowledge and serving families well.

My goal is to help parents feel prepared and informed as they learn about Georgia's TEFRA/Katie Beckett Medicaid pathway for children with disabilities.
Because I successfully navigated the process for my own son, I understand how important organization, preparation, questions, and advocacy can be.
What I Believe
My faith is part of who I am and part of why Equipped for the Autism Journey exists. I want this space to give parents practical support while also reminding them that there is hope, purpose, and strength for the journey ahead.

No. I provide parent education, preparation, organization guidance, and general navigation support. I do not act as Georgia Medicaid, determine eligibility, or guarantee approval.
No. Every family’s circumstances are different, and eligibility decisions are made by the appropriate government agency. My role is to help parents feel more informed and prepared for the process.
No. Equipped for the Autism Journey provides educational information, parent support, and general resource navigation. Families should use qualified professionals and official agencies for medical, legal, psychological, clinical, or eligibility decisions.

If you book a 60-minute service within 7 days of your $50 Let’s Talk Consultation, you receive a $25 credit toward that next session. The credit is not redeemable for cash.
Four 30-minute complimentary parent-support sessions are offered each calendar year, with one recipient selected per quarter. Applications are reviewed according to the published program guidelines.
